Wage and hour issues are certainly front and center these days, what with the DOL's proposal to double the minimum salary for overtime-exempt employees potentially making an additional 4.6 million workers who are currently overtime-exempt eligible for overtime unless their employers raise their salaries.  Shortly on the heels of this announcement,  the DOL issued a new "administrator's interpretation" intended to help employers figure out whether to treat workers as employees or independent contractors.  None other than Tammy McCutchen, principal with Littler Mendelson and former Administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, is presenting our August 5 webinar on the FLSA overtime regulations, to help make sense of the impact of these developments.  We also have tremendous resources on XpertHR to help as well, such as our proprietary Liveflo workflow: Classify a Position as Exempt or Nonexempt, over 10 Wage and Hour "How Tos" and the Employee Classification and Independent Contractors Employment Law Manual coverage to help you navigate the shifting landscape of wage and hour issues.
