Your Update from XpertHR...

Featured Content
XpertHR has reorganized and expanded its already-robust immigration content to ensure our key resources are even more useful and accessible.
Our latest Liveflo workflow can help an employer decide whether certain workplace activities, such as social media communications, are protected under federal law.
By following this checklist during year-end, an employer will be able to successfully close out every year's payroll in compliance with the income and employment tax laws and regulations.
Content Spotlight:
Jury Duty
Long absences occasioned by jury duty can significantly disrupt an employer's operations. Although federal law does not require jury duty or court-related leave to be paid leave, some state laws do impose such requirements, as described in the Jury Duty state sections of the Employment Law Manual. The Jury and Court-Related Leave Policy outlines the employer's responsibilities and employees' obligations related to such absences.

Did you know the International Manual offers legal guidance for employers with staff based in other countries?
Remaining compliant with international employment law is daunting for employers with staff based outside of the US. To help such employers remain compliant with international employment law, XpertHR offers the International Manual. Currently offering employment law guides on 22 countries (and counting!), this tool can be added to your subscription at any time. If you currently have staff based outside of the US, or future plans to outsource employees, speak to your sales representative about the advantages of adding the International Guide to your account.

Editor's Message |
I'm thrilled to announce our recently expanded immigration-related content. Not only did we create an entirely new Employment Law Manual Section, titled "Immigration, Form I-9 and Work Visas," authored by Charles Gillman, an immigration attorney at Ogletree Deakins, but we also created equivalent state sections, for all states with immigration-related laws. Too, immigration is now a new topic in our topic structure, so you can view all our immigration-related content together and set a Topic Alert to be notified when we have new or updated immigration content.
We've also created a new task, "Comply With Immigration-Related Paperwork Requirements" and added an Immigration Policy, authored by Ian R. Macdonald, of Littler Mendelson, PC. For those of you with immigration challenges, we're here to help! If there are any other needs you have in this area, please don't hesitate to let us know
