In order to investigate a claim of harassment, an employer should prepare an investigation file that includes detailed documentation regarding the complaint and the allegations, a copy of the employer's harassment policy as it read at the time of the alleged incident, as well as any acknowledgment and consent forms signed by any relevant parties.
