Did you know the Employment Glossary defines and explains HR words, phrases and abbreviations?

While XpertHR articles are written in easy-to-understand language, we don't expect you to know the definition of every term and acronym used in employment law today. To help you understand the different phrases, concepts and language used on the site, we have created the Employment Glossary. By breaking down unfamiliar concepts like 1040/2080 Plans, defining phrases such as OSHA's Imminent Danger, and explaining oft-used terms such as Zero Tolerance Policies, the Employment Glossary ensures you'll fully understand each article found on XpertHR, regardless of the subject area.

Editor's Message

I hope you all are taking advantage of our tremendously helpful Topic Alert feature. You can sign up for it, or change the topics you are tracking, from your My Account page. Once you have a topic alert set up, you'll be emailed every time (up to once a day for the prior day's updates) we add or update a document that's assigned that topic. Personally, I have signed up for all topics and therefore get updates daily, but you may wish to only track one or a few topics. It's entirely up to you, but it's a great way to see what's been added to or changed on the site for topic(s) of interest.

An additional means of seeing in one place what we've been adding to or changing on the site is our What's New page, which simply lists chronologically everything new or revised. What a great snapshot of the site's value!

Our Editor's Choice portion of the site is the vehicle we use to explain the context of the individual changes to the site - what legal change spawned the update of several documents, for example. You can see the latest Editor's Choice articles on our home page or by accessing the tool page, where Editor's Choice articles can be sorted by topic.

Of course, we keep you apprised of legal and site developments via these Editor's Choice newsletters as well, which we archive on the site. Feel free to use any combination of these tools to keep abreast of how XpertHR stays so current to serve your needs.
